The collection comes home for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch on May 16th, but you can pick up the Anniversary Collection: Arcade Classics today (which contains the only Castlevania arcade game, Haunted Castle). It would’ve been nice to have one huge expansive package (like Capcom did with its Street Fighter collections), but seeing as it’s Konami, this might be as good as we get for now. Given that we already have Rondo of Blood and Symphony of The Night already available in Castlevania Requiem (which we reviewed here), it makes sense that the original 8-bit and 16-bit entries get their own collection. Now, you can add Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest (1988, NES), Castlevania: The Adventure (1989, Game Boy), Kid Dracula (1990, NES) and Castlevania Bloodlines / New Generation / Vampire Killer (1994, Mega Drive) to the mix. The initial titles revealed for the collection were Castlevania (1987, NES), Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse (1990, NES), Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge (1991, Game Boy) and Super Castlevania IV (SNES, 1991).
Today we got our answer, as Konami have revealed the remaining games, which should be a treat for you old-school fans. Ever since Konami announced their Anniversary Collections, in particular the Castlevania Anniversary Collection, we’ve been waiting to see just what games were going to be included.
